Jesus wants to show us in a broad way what us being the children of God and God being our Father really means. That if we have the faith like that of a child and know that God is our Father then we will ask for anything according to His Word and He will be more than pleased to give us.

Jesus explained to His disciples that the same way you cannot ask of your earthly father for bread and he gives you a stone is the same way God is happy to provide for what you have asked for. We ask in faith because it is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6) and all things are possible to the one who believes (Mark 9:23).

Many people tell of stories of how they tried several things; one after another hoping to succeed with them but there was no success in the end (I am no exception in this). Afterwards, what follows is we start doubting God because we did make prayers about all those things yet they never came to pass. We start to believe that God is not on our side or maybe He is angry with us. But God Himself spoke and said that He would never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). Moreover, (Proverbs 3:5-6) urges
us to trust God with all our hearts and lean not to our own understanding. He said He knows the plans He has for each one of us, plans to bring us prosperity and not disaster (Jeremiah 29:11) and in verse 12 He says “then you will call to me. You will come and pray to me and I will answer you”.

This brings us to a suitable conclusion that the things that seem not to come to success are simply not in
God’s plan for us, for how can God bless that which He has not planned for? His plans are sufficient to sustain an individual through out his or her entire life time.
