FOCUS ON YOURSELF
What do you do when others are succeeding but you are not? Other people are having their time of their life but your life is falling apart into pieces. These very people, you know them well, you are probably convinced that you are more spiritual than them. You even get mad at God because if there is anyone’s life that should be going so well should be yours. Do not worry, you have come to the right page to understand such things.
Well God speaks of Himself in Isaiah as being a complete mystery. He says His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts just as the heavens are higher than the earth Isaiah 55:9. Enoch, in the book of Enoch said I saw ten thousands upon ten thousands before Him yet He sought council from no one.
Sometimes it is very hard to understand God. Where the Bible says that the righteous are not forsaken, sometimes it feels like they are really forsaken. One time a friend of mine asked me a long time ago, how is it that the people who serve God are the ones who are broke and experiencing hardships in life? At that time I did not have an answer but right now I really do. The best thing about this answer is the fact that I have been there, experiencing hardships after hardships and nothing seemed to work out until I learnt this very beautiful thing that most people do not know.
In my very first article, The Only Race, I described a situation where I constantly asked God for material things: cars, houses, money. I asked for a really long time until after some few months I thought to myself, “maybe God does not want to give me all that after all”. But I was all wrong. God wants to protect me rather. That is what I really came to know. Had He given me those things at that time, I would have been so overjoyed and overwhelmed at the same time. I was not ready at the time and the honest conclusion is, I would have drifted my focus, attention and life completely from Him, had He given me those things at that time. I was not spiritually mature yet to handle material things. That is when I really learnt that for you to have anything in this life and for God to give it to you, you must be spiritually ready to receive and have it.
Think about 3 John 1:2 (BLB) Beloved, I pray you to prosper concerning all things and to be in good health, just as your soul prospers. The words in bold are the Keys To Prosperity. God is a planned and organized designer, He gave man the ability to attract prosperity to Himself or Herself. This is what it means to be spiritually ready to receive the blessings that God has for you. You attract the blessings yourself, by how much your soul has prospered. Therefore, if you look at your life right now, the prosperity you have is a reflection of how much your soul has prospered! As simple as that!
