Have you ever posed to meditate on the fact that not everyone will make it to heaven? The Bible says only those whose names are written in the lamb’s book of the living will enter the city (Revelation
21:27). Now take some time and think of all the evil in this world, tears and transgression. And then think about the promised city, made of pure gold (Revelation 21:18) and shinning like a precious stone with God ‘s glory (Revelation 21:11); not one evil will be found in it. Does it not spark an enthusiasm that everyone’s goal should be to make sure his/her name is written in the Lamb’s book of the living?

But listen closely as I bring this into a clearer focus. Preparing for heaven requires not only to believe that all our sins were forgiven on the cross two thousand years ago, but also to firmly hold onto that victory until the end. This means to constantly tame ourselves to physically obey God’s commands for that is the only way to remain on the path of truth. Jesus said those who love me are the ones that obey my commandments (John 14:21).

The traditions of this world have made the word of God of no effect (Mark 7:13). We tend to feel that we love God so much but we are ashamed of Him; He will also be ashamed of us when He comes in the Glory of His father (Luke 9:26). But why should we be ashamed of someone who is supposed to give
us eternal life just by believing? In the real sense, He should be more talked of than anything or anyone else in this world.

We feel we have faith but when a crisis shows up, we forget the power of God immediately; well faith without actions is dead (John 2:17). We feel we have reverence for God but when something evil
shows up we don’t mind doing it. “These people”, says God, “honor me with their words but their heart is really far away from me. It is no use for them to worship me because they teach human rules as though they were my laws” (Mathew15:8).

The Bible says not everyone who calls me Lord will enter the Kingdom of heaven (Mathew 7:21). People will come and say, “we drove out demons in your name,” but Jesus will say “I was thirsty but you never gave me something to drink, get away from me for I do not know you” (Mathew 7:22).

The truth is, it is easier to go to hell than to heaven. The Bible says if your right eye causes you to sin take it off and throw it away because it is much better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than have your whole body be thrown to hell (Mathew 5:29). Go in through the narrow gate, because the gate to hell is wide and the road that leads to it is easy and there are many who travel it. But the gate to life is narrow and the way that leads to it is hard and there are few who find it (Mathew 7:13).
