When we start pursuing that which comes from the Father, He says “and I will direct your paths”. I’d rather pursue God’s plan for my life rather than what I think is best for me. The Bible says, keep company with God, get in on the best (Psalms 37:4). Which means that God’s plan is always the best. It’s a life of blessing to blessing and not of miracle to miracle. Miracles are real, and they are good too. Jesus performed a lot of miracles in the earth and people were so pleased with Him. But think about this, isn’t it better to live a life of blessing to blessing, than that of miracle to miracle. The Father wants to live in us, so we can live a life filled with power and joy, just like His temple.
Furthermore, we have to keep in mind that God knows no defeat, He says whatever comes from His mouth cannot return to Him empty; rather, it must accomplish what He pleases and achieve the purpose it was sent for (Isaiah 55:11). So this should bring us great joy because we know we live by God’s Word. So we take what He has already said and live by it. It becomes our life.
This does not mean however that the road will be smooth; we have to understand that only through challenges will God be able to strengthen our faith in Him. We cannot bypass endurance and enter into the promises of God. (Deuteronomy 8:2) gives a very good example about this. It’s about the story of the Israelites when they were in the wilderness; Moses reminded them “remember how the Lord your God led you on this journey through the desert, sending hardships to test you, so that he might know what you intended to do and whether you would obey His commands.” He sent hardships to test them.
In the end, we know that what He said that was in our favor must come to pass. Even if we might have to face discipline, it is only there for a short time. In scripture it says, No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way (Hebrews 12:11 NLT).
