The journey of life will never be smooth, the further one moves from the sea shore the more he meets bigger and stronger waves. But the gate to life is narrow and the way that leads to it is hard (Mathew7:14).
The spirit took Jesus to be tempted in the desert and He stayed for forty days and nights without food and water and the first temptation was to turn stones to bread (Mathew 4:1). Abraham was a hundred years old when God gave him a son who was supposed to be his heir and then God told him to sacrifice this only son, just to test if he loved Him (Genesis 22:2).
It is true that many drown in the sea while on this journey, only few people reach to the end, for wide is the road that leads to destruction and many people follow it (Mathew 7:14).
Nevertheless, there is a way to travel safe in this journey, where no waves will shake you and the sea will always be calm and this only way is to have the knowledge of God (Hosea 6:6); “what I want from you is plain and clear, I want your constant love, not your animal sacrifices, I would rather have my people know me than burn offerings to me.
Knowing God doesn’t mean basic knowledge (that there is a God who is the creator of everything and takes care of us) but rather knowing Him deeply to the point of having an intimate relationship with Him.
God only wants us to please Him by doing the things that He requires. He will make us travel in this journey in a way that we cannot imagine and, in the end, still take us in the place that He prepared for us, a place where no eye has seen and no ear has heard of (1 Corinthians 2:9).
The devil is limited to lure us with only the things of this earth that last for a moment and yet in the end suffer with him. But we should not be deceived, we should hate the devil and all evil because God will give us what the devil can never give and still give it in abundance.
Let us endure hardness when separating ourselves from evil and love God constantly to the point of being completely faithful to Him (Deuteronomy 18:13). We may not see how it will turn out but God has the solution to everything.
Giving up is not the answer but pressing on and facing the persecution with joy. Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you can be mature and complete, not lacking anything (James 1:1-4).
God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that he should change his mind (Numbers 23:19). He became the Son of man, but that is not who He is. whatever He said will surely come to pass, for His word is life.
Do not believe in the world because the world can and will fail us but let us be of good courage because God defeated the world (John 16:33). He is the one we must believe in.
