Now listen closely, as much as lucifer wanted to create enmity between man and God , he had no power whatsoever to do so; his only way was and forever will be; to provide deceitful suggestions but the power to do the action lie in the hands of man.
So, when he was able to deceive man, God became angry and cast man out of the garden of Eden and henceforth suffering begun. Therefore, the lesson learnt here is God hates sin and anything that is sinful cannot be close to him. From then on people were expected to live without sin and repent of the sin they committed otherwise they would share the eternal suffering with the devil. This is when people started viewing God as a God of judgement but not as the creator of all things.
However, to understand that this is a completely wrong perspective, we have to remember that in the beginning there was no sin. The world would have been perfect since the ground would not have been under a curse, man was not supposed to work for anything because God provided everything.
Moreover, God gave up His only son to die for all sins of man so that people would not have to offer sacrifices for their sins anymore but only believe and have eternal life. The
bible says that He went to prepare a special place for those who love Him, where no eye has seen, no ear has heard and it has not entered the minds of men (1 Corinthians 2:9).
He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for Him (Hebrews 9:28) so that where He will be, they may be also. So, this is how we should view God; as the one who delivered us from all our sin, the one who redeemed us, the one who loves us with an everlasting love. But no longer as a God of judgement.
He is a just God; He sends sunlight both to the godly and the ungodly (Mathew 5:45). Anytime anyone is desperately in need of help from God, He always comes through despite the sins that the person committed.
Hebrews 1:3, The son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being. Jesus is explained as being the exact image of God. In other words, if you truly want to understand the nature of God; Paul says look at Jesus. Let’s take examples from
the Bible to see this clearly. (John 8:1-11) The teachers of the law and Pharisees caught a woman in the very act of adultery and brought her to Jesus, they said the law of Moses commands them to stone the woman and so they were looking forward to Jesus’ opinion. Though the law was made by God Himself, Jesus said whoever has no sin should be the first one to cast a stone at her. When all the people left, Jesus told the woman as there was no one to condemn her, so does He also not condemn her, and He forgave her.
Luke 9:53-55, Jesus, James and John were going to a city to preach and Jesus got rejected there. They asked Jesus if they could call fire from heaven so that it would burn those people just like Elijah did. Jesus rebuked Him instead and said “you do not know which Spirit you are of”.
Luke 22:47-56, When the army came to arrest Jesus at the garden of Gethsemane, Peter drew a sword and cut off the ear of one of the soldiers, Jesus rebuked Peter by saying “those who live by the sword shall die by the sword”. Then he took the ear and healed that soldier. God is the complete expression of love (1 John 4:16). This is His very nature!
