The devil is up to no good, all he wants is for people to share in his final suffering which he was promised by God, eternal hell. This is the second death. God never created hell for any of His creations but for the devil and his demons only. (2 Peter 3:9) He says He is patient with us because He does not want anyone to be destroyed but wants all to turn away from their sins. John 3:16 Says for God so loved the world that He gave His only Son so that whoever shall believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. The more people stay blinded to this, the more the devil becomes happy because throughout their lives, they will live chasing the world which is like chasing the wind and finally
share the same fate with him.
Jesus asked a very important question, for what shall a man gain if he gains the whole world and loses his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? (Mark 8:36). Notice here that He compared
the whole world with all its riches to a single soul. This should automatically give you an isnight about the soul. That the soul is the most precious thing in this world because it is the one that will determine whether one will live forever or not.
This is why when one finally realizes the truth; all hell breaks loose. The devil comes up with tricky illusions and suggestions that seem so pleasant so that he can bring the mind to a battle with thoughts to get the person to continue sinning and living blindly. The Bible says that you will know the truth and the truth shall set you free (John 8:32). So, the minute one realizes that the only reason for living is to fight to maintain his or her eternal life-because God has already placed eternal life in the hearts of men (Ecclesiastes 3:11)-, that is the very minute the person becomes free.
Freedom does not mean getting saved and becoming a Christian. For how many people have done this and still went back to their old ways of wickedness? Freedom means the knowledge and belief that we were already saved by Jesus Christ on the cross two thousand years ago so that none of us should perish but have eternal life. Now we begin to live on the finished works of Jesus Christ. When Jesus died on the cross, He said it is finished (John 19:30). So, everything we struggle to achieve-that comes by righteousness, was finished two thousand years ago on the cross. (2 Peter 1:3) According as His
divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who has called us to glory and virtue.
